Jesus knows that our clothes do more than simply keep us warm. They serve as a powerful instrument to present ourselves to the world. We dress to look good and to feel good. Few things are more uncomfortable than showing up to an event without the proper clothing. We hate to feel out of place. That is why Jesus points us to the flowers of the field. They can’t fuss over their appearance or worry about it, but God gives them a beauty of which kings and queens can only dream. Are we trusting God to make us beautiful, to keep us warm, and to present us to the world? The field flowers quickly die and their beauty passes with them, but when God clothes His children it is for eternity.
