Today we are going to try and take Jesus’ instructions to “look at the birds” seriously. It shouldn’t be hard to find some birds to watch. Many of us have feeders sitting just outside our dining room windows. Jesus expects us to observe that birds don’t have savings accounts or 401k’s and yet they find food for each day. God is caring for them. He also wants us to contemplate the fact that we mean much more to God than birds do. The birds intuitively lean on the Lord for provision even though His love for them can’t be compared to His love for us. Can’t we trust the Lord to provide for us when He has already proven the depth of His love by sending Jesus?
